New aspects of scattering and absorbing properties of atmospheric aerosol particles
1972
Abstract Knowledge of the scattering and absorbing processes of the atmospheric aerosol particles in the solar wavelength range is necessary in order to calculate the energy balance of the atmosphere. Both of these depend on the relative humidity of the air. Until now little was known of the behavior of the particles. This paper shows experimental and theoretical results of the real and imaginary part of the refractive index of the aerosol particles at different relative humidities.
Market Segmentation by Motivations to Travel
2005
Abstract Knowledge about tourist motivations would enable tourism destination planners to better satisfy consumer needs. Recent studies evidence the heterogeneous nature of tourist motivations, and highlight the importance of motivations (e.g., Bansal & Eiselt, 2004). The context-dependency of motivations to specific destinations and tourist market emphasizes the need of further research. The purpose of this study is two-fold. First, to explore the primary reasons influencing British tourists' decision making while taking a summer holiday in two resorts (Fethiye and Marmaris), located in Mugla (Turkey), and second, to identify customer segments, depending on their socio-demographic characte…
The response of (95,97)Mo to supernova neutrinos
2011
Knowledge about nuclear responses to neutrinos is essential for both astrophysical applications and studies of neutrino properties. We perform in this paper calculations of the cross sections for neutral-current neutrino scattering off the odd A = 95,97 Mo isotopes for energies appropriate for the detection of supernova neutrinos. Both the incoherent and coherent contributions to the cross sections are evaluated. The prominently contributing nuclear final states are identified and analysed. We employ the microscopic quasiparticle-phonon model (MQPM) to construct the wave functions of the initial and final nuclear states. The response of the aforementioned nuclei to supernova neutrinos are c…
